      <image:title>Home - What is Art Therapy?</image:title>
<image:caption>Art Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses creativity and making art to explore life impacting challenges, trauma, illness, and unresolved issues, resulting in improved mental health and day-to-day functioning. As art therapy focuses on images and their creation, it facilitates a unique way to explore emotions, experiences, or issues that may be otherwise overwhelming to face.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - Who is it for?</image:title>
<image:caption>Art Therapy is increasingly popular for people of all ages. With no barrier to entry, it’s suitable even for people with no previous experience of making art. It can benefit people experiencing a wide range of issues; from feeling that something isn’t quite right, to more specific matters such as: Autism and neurodivergence Anxiety Depression Trauma Lack of confidence Anger Addiction Eating disorders Grief, bereavement, loss Relationship difficulties Physical disabilities Learning disabilities Illness ADHD</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - Do I have to be an artist?</image:title>
<image:caption>Not at all; art therapy is not art teaching. A person attending a session is supported by their therapist to use a wide range of art materials at their own pace in order to explore and express thoughts and feelings that can be hard to express verbally.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - What will happen?</image:title>
<image:caption>You will have an initial meeting to discuss what your current needs are and how art therapy could benefit your specific situation. If I feel art therapy is appropriate for you, a contract of aims, session dates, and what supports you may need is agreed. This is usually for six sessions, after which an evaluation will take place and a decision made between us about whether further sessions would be beneficial. I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space to explore feelings and experiences through art and image making.</image:caption>
